I’m Chantal Schiltmeijer, a Health IT professional, author and poet based in Amsterdam.
In my professional work, I focus on semantics, interoperability and governance in healthcare. As Strategic Account & Product Manager for the Open Terminology Server, I work at the intersection of technology, clinical knowledge and the people who need to make them work together.

A question runs through much of my thinking: what happens to meaning when information moves between systems, organisations and purposes? Through Semantic Weekly and my papers, I explore how we can preserve context, make transformations explainable and give meaning a place in the way we design healthcare data.
My literary work explores identity, silence, vulnerability and the process of becoming. I am the author of I INTEGRATED, Softness with Teeth and Inherited Silence.
Across both fields, I’m drawn to what language carries—and what can get lost when we assume we understand it.
This website brings those parts of my work together: reflections on healthcare and technology, papers to read and share, and books and poetry that approach meaning from a more personal place.
